The three hospitals that will complete the Charles de Gaulle City of Health are almost complete, which will provide 667 beds to the national health system. During a tour through the facilities with Bautista Rojas, the minister of public health, authorities informed that the hospitals should be in operation in August of 2012. The projects, with a cost of 125 million dollars, will strengthen the capacity of the public health system in secondary and tertiary levels of attention.
The hospitals are being developed as "turnkey" projects by Carimex, part of IBT Group. The delivery of the pediatric hospital is foreseen for April, with 200 beds and approximately 12 thousand square meters. The Maternity hospital should be inaugurated in June with a capacity of 217 beds and the General and Specialty Hospital will count with 250 beds and 11 operating rooms.
